Hindi Movie: Boss

This movie is a remake of some south Indian super hit masala movie. Director Anthony D’souza who earlier directed super flop movie ‘Blue’, is again directing Akshay Kumar in this movie. Anthony wanted to encash the stardom of Akshay Kumar by directing him in remake of already super hit movie, but he couldn’t deliver upto the expectations. The movie is only watchable for Akshay Kumar’s fantastic performance and few good songs.

Professor Satyakant(Mithun chakravarti) has 2 sons elder Surya (Akshay Kumar) and younger Shiv (Shiv Pandit). Due to some incidents in their childhood, Surya gets into jail and is separated from his father and brother. 15 years later, Shiv comes into some problem and corrupt police inspector Ayushman Thakur (Ronit Roy) puts him in jail and wouldn’t release him due to some personal matter. Then Satyakant decides to take help from Surya who now is now known as BOSS and has become the big name in town due to his ‘Roinhood’ style of helping poor people. Boss who is brought up by Big Boss (Danny Denzongpa) takes the control and teaches a lesson to Ayushman and corrupt poltician (Govind Namdev).

The movie has some good dialogues, good songs but it lacks the good story and direction is also very poor. It is very predictable, brainless action comedy, masala movie. Akshay Kumar has given his 110% to the movie. His dialogue delivery, action scenes, stunts, dance numbers everything is superb. Aditi Rao Hyderi who plays love interest of Shiv, doesn’t get much scope. Shiv Pandit is average performer and lacks the potential. Mithun Chakravarti’s character is not well written and hence it creates no impact. Johny lever as Zoravar Singh has very less to do in movie. Danny’s character also poorly written and hence fails to create fire. Sonakshi sinha and Prabhu Deva does cameo in songs.

Overall, Boss – Akshay Kumar = 0

Watch it only for Akshay Kumar’s excellent action scenes and fantastic dialogue delivery.
