Marathi Movie: Narabachi Vadi

This movie is amongst one of the finest Marathi movies from recent times. This movie proves that Marathi films can also be entertaining. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and enacted by ace Marathi actors Dilip Prabhavalkar, Manoj Joshi, this movie is a must watch.

As the name says it is a story of Naraba (Dilip Prabhavalkar) and his small field where he is growing plants of coconuts and some other fruits. Rangrao khot (Manoj Joshi) is a local rich man who tries to take away Naraba’s land by force but stopped by some dacoit whom Naraba has helped few years back. When Rangrao dies, his son Malhar (Manoj Joshi) tries to buy the land but Naraba won’t sell it. Then he agrees to pay Naraba Rs. 150 per month and promises to take care of the land after Naraba dies. Naraba’s grandson (Vikas Kadam) initially wants to sell the land but later he also starts working in the field with Naraba.  What happens with Naraba and his grandson, what happens to the land, whether Malhar succeeds in grabbing the land or not, answers to all these questions are better seen in the movie.

Performances of stalwart actor Dilip Prabhavalkar and Manoj joshi are brilliant and movie completely relies on it. Other actors like Nikhil Ratnaparakhi, Vikas Kadam, Kishori Shahane are good in their parts. Dialogues are really funny and screenplay is also well paced. Beautiful scenery of Konkan is visual treat for viewers.

Overall, this is a must watch movie for every Marathi movie lover.
